If your pet is in need of emergency veterinary care please call us immediately at (215) 982-1490. By calling ahead we can prepare for your pet or refer you to an intensive care facility if necessary.

Signs or symptoms that may indicate a Pet Emergency:

  • Seizures
  • Toxin/Poison ingestion, ingestion of chocolate, raisins, sugar-free gum (Sorbitol), accidental medication ingestion
  • Labored or difficulty breathing
  • White or very pale gums
  • Coughing/Wheezing or frequent panting
  • Nasal discharge or congestion
  • Weakness, Lethargy or Collapse
  • Dizziness, imbalance, or circling
  • Inability to walk
  • Bloated abdomen
  • Lacerations or Bite wounds
  • Bleeding
  • Burns
  • Accidental ingestion of toxin, medication, chocolate, raisins, sugar-free gum, foreign objects
  • Decreased/Poor Appetite
  • Protracted Vomiting, diarrhea or constipation
  • Lameness
  • Excessive salivation
  • Frequent and/or inappropriate urination
  • Blood in urine
  • Severe Pain
  • Smoke Inhalation
  • Urethral Obstruction
  • Hind-End Paralysis
  • Difficulty giving birth/Cesarean section (C-section)
  • Pyometra (infected uterus)

Our in-house laboratory, ECG/blood pressure monitors, radiology, ultrasound and experience allows us to obtain critical information quickly about your pet.

In an emergency, time is of the essence, please seek veterinary attention as soon as possible. If your pet is in need of emergency care outside of our office hours, please contact a 24hr facility.
