Just like us, dogs and cats benefit from annual wellness check-ups. During these appointments, your pets will be carefully examined and any medical concerns will be proactively identified. We will discuss dental care techniques, proper nutrition, the appropriateness of vaccinations and preventative measures against parasites, such as intestinal parasites, fleas, ticks and heartworms.
Current research indicates that most pet vaccinations are not necessary on a yearly basis and since no dog or cat vaccination is 100% risk free, it is important to create a personalized vaccine protocol for each pet. This maximizes protection against frequently encountered diseases, while still using the fewest vaccines possible.
Our pets require specialized care in every stage of life.
For senior dogs and cats, we often recommend comprehensive blood testing at our animal hospital, so that we can diagnose potential diseases and problems before they present serious health risks. In addition, we also encourage chest and abdominal imaging on an affordable wellness basis as it offers early, and potentially life-saving, disease detection.
Microchipping is a simple procedure that we strongly recommend every pet owner considers. This provides permanent identification and may be your only means of being reunited with him or her in the event that you and your pet are separated. We place a very small microchip underneath your pet’s skin that contains your contact information. The procedure can be performed during a routine visit, with no anesthetic required.
